Samsung launches Galaxy Player 4.2, larger screen and front speakers

Galaxy Player 4.2 (YP-GI1) is the newest member of the family of media players from Samsung, all models more or less “recycled” by smartphone similar private functions in mobile phones. After making at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in early 2012 the MP3 player and video debuts today in South Korea (Samsung’s birthplace) and so far only state to enjoy the availability of the new player

The 4.2 in the model name refers to the inch diagonal screen and then goes to place the media player between models 4 and 5 inches, which because of a confusing choice of nomenclature in our country are known as Wi-Galaxy S Fi 4.0 and 5.0.

The model is available in two cuts of memory: 8 and 16GB expandable via micro SD. The resolution of 800 × 480 pixel display enables the IPS micro-tablet to be used without too many problems in web browsing over Wi-Fi. Among other features include a VGA front 2MP, Bluetooth, front speakers and a 1500mAh battery.

On the software side we find the usual Android OS, but in an older version: Nothing but Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwich 2.3. Galaxy Player 4.2 will have a series of preloaded content including FIFA 2012 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and is sold at a cost of 269.000 and 299.000 won, the equivalent of 180 and 200 €.
